    Dodger Stadium renovations

i dont like this owner. he is from boston, yet he is making dodger stadium look like yankee stadium. they are adding 1600 new seats and they are taking away a huge amount of foul territory. i think he is trying to make dodger stadium a hitter park because we dont have any.

last year he added the LA logo behind the plate just like the yankees, except it look smaller and now this.

i took a screen shot and cropped and highlighted the new seats. its just more seats that seaosn ticket holders wont use. damn pace is gonna look even more empty. im sure it will look nice and help out the team with more season ticket money but i dont like that he is making it like yankee stadium (and that this renovation wont make the cut in mvp baseball 2005 [they are already missing the earlier renovations])

hmm the playing surface DOES remind me a lot of Yankee stadium but when you don't have hitters it might be better to make it more hitter friendly. I also read an article on MLB.com stating that the renovations are being met with enthusiasm.

yeah...the guy in charge said people are liking it but its only the well off people that can afford these seats. they will only be for season ticket holders.

they will never say people are hating the idea of anything teams do. who are these people they are asking? if they would have asked me i would have said i hated it. especially that they are making it look like yankee stadium

If they were gonna go anything to the stadium I'd like to see them fix up the out field seats. Last season was the first time in like 7 years I'd sat out there, and after going to a lot of other ball parks I thought the outfield seats could use a lot of renovation, maybe even include them into the rest of the park so that they're more a part of the stadium. They could also really use some new ticket booths. But I suppose doing stuff like this will make them a lot more money.

The dimensions look very even to me and because of that this park won't automatically turn into a hitter's park. The less foul territory will pick up batting averages a bit, but not by too much to automatically make the park hitter friendly.

Yankee Stadium looks like a sideways oval in the outfield. Nothing like Dodger Stadium.

im not talking about the field. look at the seating. i darkened the original seats and left the new seats bright. they are shaped just like they are at yankee stadium. that is a tremendous amount of foul territoy they are taking away. a foul that would have normally been caught for an out will be a foul and give the hitters another chance.

that foul territory is the main reason dodger stadium is a pitcher park. now its gone. who has the advantage now?

I've always thought it was a rather poor looking stadium, but that's mainly due to the age.

I think it's a rather poor idea, just a way to make more money. The more foul ground territory = the better.

Good, I always hated the ten miles of foul ground at Dodger Stadium.
