    NL East talk

Since this division will be very competitive I thought we could discuss it all on a thread by itself. So here goes my predictions as of now.

    1. Braves- hey, until they lose they are the top dogs. I do think that their starting rotation will be fine but their bullpen could be shaky. Their offense will be down a little with the loss of Drew but Cox always somehow pulls through with what he has

    2. Florida- Esp if they land Delgado, their starters are solid and bullpen is decent. Offense is arguabley the best in the East.

    3. Philadelphia- No legit number 1 starter but pitchers 1-5 are all solid IF they can stay healthy. Their offense can put up some numbers if they can find a way to hit with runners in scoring postion. Bullpen is top notch.

    4. New York- If they land Delgado switch them with Florida, if not I can see a 4th place finish. Let me explain, Pedro is good, but he rarely goes beyond the 6th inning. Which is not good because they do not have a quality bullpen. I would throw Glavine in there as well as a pitcher who has trouble pitching past the 6th. Zambrano is at times great and at times awful. Benson is the same. Piazza is a liability behind the plate and Beltran's offense will suffer at Shea because it is a big park.

    5. Washington- Self explanatory, although they are going to get a new owner and he may be a free spender because the market down here is great! They have a solid pitching staff and their offense is good.

Okay, let the ripping begin. Just remember, this is all in fun, if I offended you or your team just remember, these are silly predictions and the game is played on the field.
When life hands you a lemon, just look up and say, "Oh yeah, is that all you got? Because I love lemons!".

Thats what it is all about. As a Braves fan watching John Schuerholz see how low he can cut his payroll and still pull off the division has been both amusing and painful as well. We lose Javy Lopez, he brings in JD Drew who puts up a career year. Now that he leaves, I wouldn't be surprised to see Raul Mondesi to put up numbers around .315, 30, and 120. Gotta love the Hudson signing tho

no way mondesi puts up .315 30 120 numbers

i'd expect more of a .270 16 70 year. and thats being nice.

i do not beleive that delgado is a good enough player to put the mets from a 4th place team to a 2nd place team. he was a .269 hitter last year. here are my predictions

1- Atlanta Braves: people have been trying to beat the streak every year but somehow they always pull on top.
2- New York Mets: the offseason moves have at least gotten me curious about the mets, but not enough to put them in number 1
3- Florida- great offense and pitching staff, could be seriois contenders for wildcard
4- Washington- My gutsy pick. they have had some pretty good offseason moves this year to contend with some decent pitching and some decent offense. could surprise some people.
5- Philly- a team that was well out of contention last year did not do enough this offseason to keep up with a powerhouse NL East in my opinion. plus the eagles killed my falcons so i gotta put them last here
