Mientkiewicz coming...Today
They said a deal for Mientkiewicz is almost done, I have no clue who the Mets are giving up, I think it's prospects. Anyway I am happy about this move, I think Mientkiewicz will make the Mets that much better at defence in the infeild.

Re: Mientkiewicz coming...Today
Rotoworld says the minor leaguer will be Ian Bladergroen.
According to the New York Post, the Red Sox will receive first base prospect Ian Bladergroen from the Mets in return for Doug Mientkiewicz.
A fair return considering that Mientkiewicz is making at least as much as he's worth. Bladergroen hit .342/.397/.595 in the low Single-A South Atlantic League last season before tearing ligaments in his left wrist three months in. He's one of the Mets' better prospects, but he'll need to prove himself at every level in order to become a major league regular.Comment

Re: Mientkiewicz coming...Today
I'm glad to see Dougie get the boot. Although I'm sure he won't change his mind over giving the ball back. The Red Sox need to sue to get it back.
The guy didn't hit a lick while was with the Sox anyways. Good riddance.Comment

I believe that's Millar. Mientkiewicz plays a solid 1B from all that i've seen of him. He isn't the greatest hitter in the world but at least he'd make the Mets infield stronger defensively.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Millar is average at 1B and I'm suprised the Sox let him play in RF sometimes (but with Nixon healthy and the addition of Payton I don't see it happening anymore). I cringed everytime the ball was hit his way out in RF because he's so slow.Comment
