    This is an interesting topic. I would never trade good young pitching for anything. As A Cubs fan I am glad they havent traded their good young pitching. Any time the Cubs inquired about a player everyone wanted Angel Guzman, the gem of their minor leagues. The Cubs said no. Pitching is something that you always need. Hitting on the other hand is different IMO. I would trade good hitting prospects for established hitters and build my offense that way. For this to work you need a good farm system and have to be a big market team where you could make a deadline deal and re sign the guy. Its hard to say what works best. The yanks are always in it so you cant question it too much, I just wonder how they keep making moves considering everyone said their farm was depleted two or three years ago.
