Originally posted by SportsmanTOThat's pretty good priceless. I can't really argue with that but I think Hillenbrand will be playing more 1B rather than DHing. I think that Hinske would be too much of a liability on the field.

Re: How's your team shaping up?
Originally posted by pricelessActually I looked up Hillenbrand's numbers, and last season he was dreadful as a 1B (13 errors in 136 games with a .989 pct.). I think it might be some sort of a platoon at 1B, and maybe Hinske will get the odd start at 3B when Koskie needs a rest. But who knows. Maybe Hinske will end up being traded (as was speculated a while back).
I was looking at the FA list at MLB.COM and i'm surprised that no one has picked up Pedro Astacio. I know JP wanted to get him a couple yrs ago and I think he'd be a good arm to have in the pen or as a starter....Oh well.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

RF-Alex Rios
DH-Shea Hillenbrand (also 3B)
UT-Frank Menechino
SP-Doc Halladay
SP-Ted Lilly
SP-Dave Bush
SP-Gustavo Chacin
SP-Josh Towers
RP-Vinnie Chulk
RP-Jason Frasor
RP-Billy Koch
RP-Kerry Ligtenberg
RP-Justin Miller (could also be SP)
RP-Scott Schoenweiss
RP-Miguel Batista (may be a SP again, or the closer again, who knows!)
Maybe the lineup would go something like this ... trying to go RH/LH as much as possible!
1. SH 2b Orlando Hudson
2. LH LF Frank Catalanotto/RH Reed Johnson
3. RHCF Vernon Wells
4. LH 3B Corey Koskie
5. RH DH Shea Hillenbrand
6. LH1B Eric Hinske
7. RH RF Alex Rios
8. SHC Gregg Zaun/RH Guillermo Quiroz
9. LH SS Russ Adams
Batista is most likely to start the season as the number 3 starter leaving Chacin and Towers to battle it out for the 5th starter role.
The 3 other bench players besides Frank Menechino, is John McDonald, Greg Myers, and Reed Johnson.
I don't expect Miller to start in the pen unless he's lights out in ST. 2 names your missing in the pen is Brandon League and Justin Speier.
John Gibbons has already said Russ Adams will hit lead off with Hudson batting 2nd.
He's the projected batting order:
1. Adams
2. Hudson
3. Wells
4. Koskie
5. Hillenbrand
6. Catalanotto
7. Rios
8. Hinske
9. Zaun
Against lefties Johnson will be batting lead off instead of Adams.Comment
