    No???
So? It's still primarily the same team with the same team history. No one ever said you had to just root for the teams that are closest to you. At least with the Nats you are staying with a team you have a past with instead of just jumping on with some other team because they are now closer.

yeah but the Jay's logo looks better! heheh

I had a past with the Nordiques and I didn't want to have anything to do with them once they were sold. Even when they won the Stanley Cup... It wasn't my team anymore (they had our old rival's goalie which didn't help)

(And the Expos traded all my favorite players in the past few years)

I can understand not cheering for the Nationals. When the Fat Bastard Michael Heisley and his evil sidekick David Stern (as well as the moron Stu Jackson) stole the Grizzlies from Vancouver, I stopped rooting for the club.

I would tell you to cheer for the Red Sox and the Blue Jays. You can have your cake and eat it to!

I would recommend becoming a Jays fan. I am sorry that you even have to pick a new team to cheer for, I don't know what I would do if Toronto lost their baseball team. Hopefully with the new financial commitment from Mr. Rogers they'll be here for many years to come.

And I agree about not cheering for Colorado anymore, I bet they really don't have many fans in Quebec. Did you switch to cheering for the Habs (even though they had such a heated rivalry with les Nordiques)? I can't imagine there's many Phoenix fans in Winnipeg either, for that matter ...

They are at equal distance from my home but one is in my country and the other one is a classic team. The thing I don't like about both team is:

Boston Red Sox: First I have to say I do not hate the Yankees. Second, I don't want to be a bandwagoner.

Toronto Blue Jays: They used the be the Expos' rivals. Second they won't achieve anything anytime soon in the same division as the Yanks and the Sox

Help me decide... I have to buy these new baseball gears soon hehe
Dont worry about being a bandwagoner. For guys like you, its as if youre at day 0...a nine yearold picking a team for the first time. Also, if youve become accustomed to cheering against the Blue Jays-since you said they are your former rivals- then you could maintain that by adopting the Sox as your new team. If you had nothing against the Sox it would seem more natural than cheering for your rival suddenly. Needless to say I recommend you go with the Sox. Also, the Sox seem to be one of the best run operations in sports and they would seem less apt to pi$$ you off with some of their decisions. So, you would more likely spare yourself the agony in that regard. Also, would you rather go to a game at Fenway or the Skydome. I actually bestow a certain measure of my own perception of value on the skydome since it was the grand poobah of the pre neo classic ballparks, but still, if you plan on going to games the ballpark might be a consideration and Fenway is a great park. I hope that helps.

Well this is the quote that takes the cake. Seriously though, if there was such a thing as an OS tombstone, this should be on yours. Definitely sigworthy.

I'll never cheer for the habs. Never. So I supported the Ottawa Senators ever since the Nordiques left.

And what bothers me with being a Sox fan is to be looked down as a bandwagoner even if I had a good reason to change the team I support (ex: sold to a city far far away)
