    A tale of 2 divisions.

    AL East:
Os are last with 13 wins

    NL East:
Everyone has 13 or fewer wins

Also, thanks to the Mariners win and Astros loss today, the balance has been restored! Our fave kind of HAT has returned in the AL West standings.

I've been saying it for 3 or 4 years now, the NL East has been the worst division in baseball, worse than the AL Central. Said it this year as well when people were acting like the entire division would be playoff contenders. This division is trash and the Braves will likely be the least worst when it is all said and done. Them or Miami.

Yeah, Braves are just trash so far...relative to the talent on the roster at least.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

My unpopular opinion stands. We really dont need AL/NL anymore.

If they're staying at 30 teams, have 3 or 4 divisions (if its 3, just do similar to what we had proposed last year, combine the easts, centrals and wests).

I didn’t see it, was it worse that Pillar swinging at a pitch that hit him for strike three yesterday?

I missed that one. But it was way above his head and basically three straight swinging like that.

While this would bridge the gap more than the current system it really isn't much more than playing lip service to fairness. No matter how you slice it there will always be some divisions that go through stretches where they are better/worse than others just like in every other sport. Just look at what the Western conference of the NBA was for years where it was the much harder path to a title. It's like beer league softball extra inning rules, double headers, or adding the DH to the NL. There was nothing wrong with the game, but we keep wanting to fix it for some reason.

I do think that the NL East will recover from the first 4 weeks of the season. I don't know if the Braves will be one of the teams to climb out of the gutter, but there is too much talent in the division to be this bad over 162.

Its not just about that though.

Although I'd also hope the NBA abandons conferences one day too, especially when teams like Minnesota, Memphis, New Orleans are considered west.

If its just a league with 1 (aka 0) conferences and everyone's just divided into divisions, it would mean more games vs teams in your own timezone. Another thing which could help some TV interest in the game rather than having these 10pm ET west coast games, or similarly, 4pm PT east games.

Last years schedule was nice since games were east vs east, central vs central, west vs west. I dont think it should be exclusive, but having majority simply being vs teams in your time zone did help with travel and game times.

That's because traditionally they were the best hitters in the lineup. Now teams are being dumb and frontloading their best hitters when nobody is on base for them.
