In case anyone was wondering how the Cubs even fielded a team today, Andrew Romine (not to be confused with his brother Austin Romine--whom the Cubs signed to be their backup catcher this offseason and is currently on the IL) is on the bench along with Johneshwy Fargas who I think has to be my new favorite Cub based solely on his name

Well that's certainly good to hear! It's just been a while since there have been any players on the Cubs roster who I know literally nothing about.

Enough ramblings of a depressed Cubs fan tho. This deadline certainly set the tone for a really exciting playoff race

Jays almost found a way to blow it but held on to win in their return!

And what an ending. Espinal with a barehanded over the shoulder catch to end it.

Special night all around, but Bo Bichette had a touching message in the players Tribune ahead of this game, then goes out here and ends up with the game winning HR.

Mets, Braves, and Phillies all make deadline moves to improve the team while the Nationals blow the team up and it looks like the Nationals will gain a game on all of the them. What a crazy day

Those Angels uniforms are beautiful. Nike did well with those.
