Yea but you gotta perfect game going. There's no science that says 2 more innings are gonna require TJS.

It's just a microcosm of the world we live in which has infiltrated sports. "Overreaction"

NBA “load management” is filtering throughout sports.

Obviously still would have loved to see him go back out, but injuries absolutely happen when you stretch guys out too quickly...and not just minor setbacks

Yeah and to be fair you won't know the effects of going out there until maybe July. He's been in this league for a long time and knows how he needs to build himself through Spring Training to the regular season. If going for that long is an oddity, you nip it in the bud.

And trust me, I'm the guy who says that pitchers should be stretched more and more. I hate this protection thing, but I'm talking about when they are full strength. This guy has had a long history of injuries, and there is no unselfish reason to stretch him out more than 80.

That being said, Dave Roberts has done this before when he pulled Ross Stripling in the eighth inning of his debut as he was throwing a no-hitter, only for them to lose that game later. I'm certain he and Kershaw spoke about this between innings though and came to an understanding.

Any relievers on the trading block yet? Mets came pretty close to blowing a 7 run lead in the 6th and 7th inning today

It’s just a shame they don’t have a major league team to field with it

Some nerve for a fan of a team who has been sub .500 their last 10 of 13 seasons and two playoff appearances, heh!

I keed, but it is shameful to keep hearing news about them needing to get out of that county or whatever it is, because it really is a lovely ballpark.

Been to a few games in Arizona back when my grandparents lived in Phoenix. It is an awesome stadium that is deserving of a winning team.
