Benches clear in St Louis after JD Davis had to leave the game after being hit and the Mets retaliated throwing up and in at Arenado. Remarkably only Arenado got ejected

Don't understand how the pitcher isn't ejected as well.

My only guess is they let him stay in because he didn’t hit Arenado. I don’t think there was any bad intentions by the Cardinals on any of the hit batsmen but regardless MLB needs to do something about the lack of control league wide. Three times the Mets have been hit in the helmet in three weeks, plus last year Pillar got blasted in the face and Alonso also took a shot to the helmet and benches nearly cleared last year vs the Phillies when someone almost got hit in the head, I think it was Conforto. I know the book on the Mets is to pitch them inside, but someone is going to get severely hurt if guys are throwing inside that can’t control where the ball is going

I guess, but if he doesn't throw up and in to Arenado this probably doesn't escalate to the point that it does. Arenado knew it was going to likely happen and I don't know what words were exchanged between Arenado and Lopez but in any event if he doesn't throw high and tight with a fastball, I think this moves along unless the next pitch plunks him.

And can we stop with the macho interview crap? First we got Tommy Pham wanting to fight people in rings/octagons and now Alonso stating he could put people in the hospital if he wanted to.

Yea that Marinaccio kid just doesn't have it. Gotta beat up on team like the Orioles and they did. It's impressive when you sweep any team. Means it's clicking. And they are.

Last year, Alejandro Kirk dropped the Jays cheat sheet on the ground during a play at the plate, and the Rays Kevin Kiermaier picked it up and kept it.

This year, he dropped that pitch com stuff that the league allows teams to use to communicate pitches with, the Red Sox found it, and surprisingly gave it back to the Jays.


Moral of the story, Alejandro Kirk, stop dropping stuff!
