You mean it doesn't count because it was combined between two pitchers, or because they only threw a total of eight innings?

I'm assuming you meant the former. Not sure if people were celebrating the Mets' combined no-hitter this year earlier to that effect.

Either way, Greene walked a few too many Pirates, or got to too many deep counts. There was no way he was ever going to finish that game.
Maybe it was the only way to protect the family jewels.

It’s not official because they only threw 8 innings. This is an official rule, not just me being an old and bitter baseball fan

If the Cards can get consistent pitching they could have something for October

The Dunedin Blue Jays (the actual one, not the MLB Jays in Dunedin) have set a record for most strikeouts in a game.

They struck out 24 batters in a 9 inning game! Previous record was 22.

              Pujols is pitching.

The entire stadium (dugouts and all) are on their feet.

Even the start of his swing, that ball wasn't on a path near the strike zone.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I will say this about Hunter Greene…he’s been leaning on his slider more the past couple of starts and he has looked much better. Yes he’s 0-2 in those starts, but his ERA over those two starts is 2.13.

                    Gives me some hope.

Do the Red Sox make the playoffs?

I had them at 88 wins before the season. I’m not all that concerned about their slow start. Their run differential is far more respectable than the Orioles, who have largely overachieved the first month or so. They still have 3 really strong hitters and if this team gets anything at all out of Trevor Story’s bat going forward, they should be able to continue to contend. If they’re at or around .500 at the all star break, I believe they make the playoffs
