When will MLB do a rule like the NBA?

I still think HPB should be considered a flagrant of some kind. It's not right a player can hurl a dangerous 100 mph baseball without hindrance just for spite and vengeance.

Watching the Dodgers-Braves game right now, and seeing Gonsolin's reaction to Roberts pulling him out of the game.

I don't care who you are or how good your outing is. You don't show up your manager if they are giving you the hook. Give them the ball, take your leave, cheer on your teammate, collect your ridiculous paycheck, and get 'em next time.

You can't make all HBP be a "flagrant" penalty because there are some that are pitches that get away from a pitcher, or a batter leans into that cause the HBP.

And they have a disciplinary system in place already. If the umpires believe intent, then both benches can be warned, the pitcher can be warned, or if its clearly obvious, or extremely dangerous (fastball at head) the umpire can eject the pitcher right then and there.

And they have a disciplinary system in place already. If the umpires believe intent, then both benches can be warned, the pitcher can be warned, or if its clearly obvious, or extremely dangerous (fastball at head) the umpire can eject the pitcher right then and there.

I didn't like yesterday that the Angels threw behind the Mariners (in the top of the 1st inning), and both benches were warned without the M's having any "throw at" occurrence... and then the very first pitch in the top of the 2nd inning the Angels hit the Mariners again, and the umpires didn't immediately eject the pitcher!

The start of all this was on the umpires not acting immediately. The M's didn't do anything in this game, and even after both benches were warned the same team that did anything just did it again.

Note that I am completely aware Trout was thrown at the day before. I'm just talking about how the Mariners were completely out of the vengeance scheme on this day, a warning was issued without them even touching the ball, and after an inning of them pitching to Ohtani and Trout the Angels go right back and drill the next M's player with no immediate ejection. It was weird.

This was CLEARLY premeditated by the Angels.

They scratched their scheduled starter, for a pure scrub, threw at Julios head, then they plunk Winker.

Got their desired result as well. The Ms 3 best hitters got tossed, while the Angels lost 2 relievers and their supreme dbag manager.

Pathetic job by the umpires as well.
