Well, I'm one of those going to Opening Day... WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

BK, that's the beauty of baseball. Once the snow starts to thaw (you don't experience this), the hope of a summer wrapped in a pennant race enters the thoughts of fans across the nation. The hope that during the boring summer months, there will be 3 hours during the early evening that will mean something that will captivate you and make you look forward to the next night. The idea that on a muggy summers night you and a few thousand of your fellow fans will gather with a beer and hot dog in hand and pull for your boys to take a series or even go for a sweep. You will laud for the days where you second guess the manager and jeer the opposing player who has become an enemy to your team. People will gather at some of the greatest Cathederals known to man. From the Bronx to Waveland to St. Louis and on to LA, fans will gather, hoping that on this night they will see a little magic or something that they can pass down from generation to generation.

I'm leery about Kolb. Guy has a good WHIP, ERA, and H/IP ratios, but his inability to strike guys out makes me nervous. Hudson is coming off an injury, and Smoltz is 38 and hasn't started in 4 years. Mike Hampton is the #3 starter. Chipper is getting old and coming of a career worst year. Andruw has regressed the past 3 years. Mondesi quit on two teams last year. Brian Jordan is damaged goods. Etc, etc...
