                        Darin Erstad? He hasn't had an above average year since 2000. Since 2000 he's put up OPS' of .691, ,702, .642, and .746. No matter what type of defense you put up at first base, .746 is not that good. Especially when the Angels have a stud in Casey Kotchman (who also has Gold Glove potential).

                        Otherwise, I'm with you on the rest of your list, even though Ortiz is basically a DH

                            I agree with your assessment on Erstad. He was a good centerfielder, but there are other first basemens in his division that have played that position longer. Don't forget about Mark Teixeira and Richie Sexson.

                                It didn't say anything about hitting..I am talking about overall Defense at 1st...When it says who is the best 1st basemen..I look at best Defensive First basemen which is Darrin Erstad.

                                Hitting doesn't make you a good 1st basemen all it is eye candy.
