Mike Schildt is going to lead the Padres to the playoffs while Oliver Marmol is going to miss them for the 2nd straight year with the Cardinals.

Glad we moved on from Shildt due to differences of goals for the organization. We dodged a bullet. Who wants to be playing October baseball when you could be sitting by campfires and watching football.

At the risk of jinxing it, the Braves - or what’s left of them - are 5-2 against the Phillies this season.

I’d be OK with the inverse of the last couple of Octobers for the Braves.

Cardinals continue to implode.

Another year of missing the playoffs may just get Oliver Marmol a lifetime managerial contract. He got an extension missing them last year.

What an embarrassment.

I don’t get to watch the Braves often (thanks MLB!) so this is my first time really getting to see Schwellenbach. He’s impressive.

That's the 2nd highest hit ball ever since they've kept track of those numbers in 2008.

Some fun facts for the upcoming Jays/Red Sox doubleheader.

Danny Jansen will be the first player to (technically) play for both teams on the same day as he was part of the Jays lineup for the first part of the game and will be on the Red Sox in the resumed part. Jansen is the guy at the plate so when the game resumes they'll officially announce Red Sox Jansen at the plate for the Blue Jays (despote being behind the plate as the catcher) being pinch hit for.

Yariel Rodriguez will also be credited with the start in the first game since he was an opener in that one, but he's going to be the starting pitcher on Tuesdays regular game, so he'd officially have been the starting pitcher on back to back nights.


Here's a jersey question. Is it ok for a current player to wear the jersey of another team, even if it's an old jersey and technically in his current teams colours?

Depends on the situation. I'm gonna say it's fine in this case (the Jays and Angels aren't rivals, neither are in the playoff hunt, Pillar is having fun but isn't trolling).

Also of note: that 80s California Angels cap goes really well with the red Toronto jersey. Jays should ditch the bland red-on-red maple leaf cap and replace it with a dark navy base w/ red Jays logo & red brim to pair with the red Canada Day jersey (could also double as a secondary cap for the City Connect jersey).

I'd make their Canada day cap the white panel one they have and instead of blue and white it's obviously red and white.

As for their city connect, I like the logo they have for it, that would've been a cool alternate to have, just make it a blue and white version for the jerseys. As cool as it is, I think all Jays fans have bad memories of the "Black Jays" era despite some great players like Halladay and early Bautista during those days, so another black Jays look doesn't feel right.
