Gerrit Cole afraid of Raffy Devers? You hate to see it.

Aaron Boone took one for his ace with the media afterwards.

If Gerrit Cole in a game in which you’re leading 1-0 in the 4th inning with one out, doesn’t want to throw a pitch to Rafael Devers, and instead intentionally walk him, then as a manager I need to find a new ace of the staff.

The AB before that he hit him with the pitch. Granted he hit two more batters in the game after that, but hitting the guy in the first AB and then intentionally walking him in the very next AB isn't a great look.

I don’t think he hit Devers intentionally in the first AB

But the ace of a staff giving in that early in the game with a run lead and one out sends a bad message to the team. At least try to get him to chase a pitch or two.

Kelenic is the king of warning track power. He either needs to get more back spin on the ball or generate more bat speed….he hits so many that die at the track.

Eli White did a horrific job running in that 8th inning and the ESPN crew didn’t even mention it. Matt Olson hit a ball that the only question was if it goes out of the park or hits high off the wall. White should have been off in contact and scored…instead he went half way and is standing flat footed when the ball caromed off the wall, only getting to 3rd. Terrible…

I continue to be baffled by Braves baserunners. Michael Harris on 1st and the ball is crushed off the top of the wall...it was clear from the get go that Tommy Edman wasn't going to catch it, yet Harris stops and watches to make sure it isn't caught...only to be throw out at the plate. It was a TREMENDOUS relay throw by Kike Hernandez, but Harris has to put his head down and fly as soon as that it was clear Edman wasn't catching that.

Hate-watching Yankees-Mariners the next few days.

Seems pretty bizarre to have them out west this late in the year.

12 games hopefully left of Oliver Marmol managerial tenure.

Don't start winning now St.Louis. We've gotten this close to getting Marmol out the door. Don't give the front office any thought that maybe he can lead us to the playoffs next year.

At the same time, lets hope the front office figures out how to make trades that better our team and organization as a whole, instead of receiving back players that we just end up DFA'ing with a month or so.

Victor Robles has been one of the few bright spots for the M's this year... but trying to steal home last night... smh

Woo was due for a poor outing. Couldn't have come at a worse time.

Interesting rule that didn't get noticed/enforced at Jays game.

Runner on 3B, pitcher threw the ball and it got stuck in the catchers gear.

Apparently the rulebook states that in this event, the play is ruled dead and the runners advance a base, meaning the run would have scored.

It didn't get noticed because Kirk took the ball out so fast before the ump even checked.

In all the years I've watched baseball, don't think I've ever watched a game before where they showed the bullpen cam and you can hear the phone ringing....until now

It's shaping up like the three game series in Atlanta next week will determine the final wildcard spot, and that terrifies me. I definitely feel more confident about this team than other Mets teams in September but I'll never feel good about going to Atlanta
