Just pathetic. This should of gone 6 or 7. But they can't catch or throw the ball.

    .
Fire a manager that got you to the WS? Idk

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

A lot of takes I'm seeing on social media today on that play are really disappointing me. Somehow Rizzo was apparently supposed to either charge a ball that's spinning to the 2nd base side (which is a tough play and if he misses it he's Buckner) and win the race to the bag. Or, with the way the play actually happened, be able to shift his momentum that had made him flat-footed or moving away from 1st after the ball spun towards second, and somehow beat Betts to the bag.

In other words, a lot of people blaming him and not Cole for not doing the thing that pitchers work on over and over in Spring Training for that EXACT kind of situation. Rizzo came up to toss the ball to first on the gather - he was 100% expecting Cole to be there and when he wasn't the play was already over. Rizzo isn't winning that race from a standstill and he knew it.

Yep - the consensus I’ve seen is “it was both Rizzo and Cole’s fault” and I can’t see that at all. Nothing Rizzo could do differently and he 100% expected his pitcher to be there because thats what he’s supposed to do. That was squarely on Cole.

I read that Brian Kenny did a break down on Yankee pitchers a few weeks ago and noted that there were more than 20 times they had failed to cover first during the season, far more than any team in baseball.

Cole literally did something similar in an earlier play last night. And on Game 1 too! If I had time (and know-how) I would download the games, cut the clips and upload them

Every WS team since 2020 has had a Will Smith on it.

Unless Hollywood does a biopic about the life and death of Saints Will Smith.

                  Not exactly...
Something I did learn, actors have to use different names if someone else already has/had it in Hollywood.

So technically we could have another Will Smith in Hollywood, he'd just have to be known as Will A. Smith or whatever his middle name is, like Michael B. Jordan.

It's almost as common a name as it gets, and thanks to the San Jose Sharks this season, we now have all 4 of the big 4 leagues having a Will Smith in the league at some point in their history.

NFL with the Saints DE over a decade ago (they've also has Willie Smiths in the league before)

MLB with a few Will Smiths (and Willie Smiths)

NBA with Willie Smith and William Smith (both played for the Blazers in the 70s at different times)

Right, that's why I said what I said. I'm aware there could be others with the name, but they won't carry the same designation as our MIB SAG member.

Also, I believe he can still be nominated. He just won't be present at the awards ceremony.

He has always had a garbage mentality.
                          And he looks like Frasier.

Of course he opted out of that contract...I can't imagine NYers are very fond of him at this point.

                          What a garbage play.
