He's still young, but one has to wonder if these things will be reoccurring problems for Mark Prior and prevent him from being the ace he appeared destined to become in '03. I think with Wood its clear he's always going to have problems and will always be one pitch away from a career ending injury. The Cubs just have to hope while these two guys are effective together that they can get 25-30 quality starts from the both of them in one season and make a run at the title. It will be interesting in the near future to see what kind of contract Prior gets. With middle of the road starters signing for upwards of 10 million this past offeseason, Prior could be in for a big pay day but the injury concerns could really knock him down a couple of pegs. And will the Cubs be willing to commit longterm while Zambrano continues to blossom into an ace pitcher.
