i'm not sure I like this deal for NYM.. Not that Philips is spectacular or anything, but Ishii has MAJOR control issues. He'll K 10, but he'll walk 10 in the same game. Yuck!Comment

Re: Bye, Bye Phillps and Hello Ishii.....
I like this deal, personally. Castro is easily as good as Phillips, and can't possibly be as slow. Defensively they're pretty similar. I'm not enamored with Castro starting 50+ games behind the plate, but then again I dread having Phillips in there, so to me it's an improvement.
Ishii is far from the best starter on the market, but for a #5 he's more than adequate. The three-headed monster of Ginter/Seo/Heilman is just about as useless as you can get. Ginter can probably do some decent work as a long-man in the pen, Heilman needs to get his head out of his a**, and Seo is a complete waste of a roster spot.
All in all I like it. I'm also sure that Omar is far from satisfied as things stand now. Let's see what he does when the waiver wires see some action in a week or so.Comment
