Todd Helton on roids? I don't think so

This is getting really stupid now. People are now accusing Todd Helton of being on roids. Sure he's a pretty big guy but physically he doesn't come off as someone who's freakishly built. In fact i'm sure that he's more of a product of the thin air in Colorado then anything else. Just take a look at these 3 yr accumalative splits:

    HOME

    851 ABs
    62 HRs
    197 RBI
    .380 AVG
    .482 OBP
    .699 SLG
    1.181 OPS

    AWAY

    832 ABs
    33 HRs
    125 RBI
    .310 AVG
    .422 OBP
    .517 SLG
    .939 OPS

As you can see away from Coors he's a steady player and while they're good numbers they aren't as mind boggling as when he's in Colorado. If anything, he's juiced by the thin air and not artificial chemistry.

This is probably coming from that team announcer who erroneously suggested that Helton was juiced referring to something that took place when Baylor was with the team. The announcer apologized and said when he said "juiced" he meant creatine or some supplement. Even after he recanted Helton was interviewed on TV and he was still livid that this guy did this. But, in any case, this might be where this is coming from...an irresponsible remark coming on the heels of a witch hunt. The source of this rumor has admitted its not true though.

The only thing 'juiced' about Helton is the ballpark he plays in.

I don't believe Helton is on the juice. Helton appears to be the new version of Rafael Palmeiro... consistantly very good numbers if he played anywhere.. great numbers due to his ballpark.

Maybe we should check ballparks for steroids.... like Enron Field, Coors Field. Sometimes you never know when a grassy field is on roids.
