hey media people and baseball fans can we give barry bonds a damn break.

i'm sick of this everyday coverage of this guy and what's he doing and what's he's thinking.

it's getting very tired man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the media is all over this guy day in and day out.

he's one of the best base ball players of all-time, whether we like it or not.

espn makes me sick with this bonds coverage, especially cold pizza on espn, early in the morning.

IMO barry gets disrepected because of two reasons by the media.

1. because he's black, yeah people racism still exist and the media treats him unfairly because of his race, would good ole boy!!!!!!!!!! BIG mark get this type of disrespect from the media, the answer to that hell!!!!!!!!!! no.

2. the media is after barry, because how he treats them, he treats them like dirt and they hate it, if he was more media friendly, he would get a free pass on alot of things.

fans and media, give this guy a break, he deserves one.

I don't want to ruin your narrow focus on the world. It can sometimes make reality easier to deal with when we have simple views on things. But the whole racist thing is a joke. Yes please use it so you don't have to seek truth. But McGwire has been TOASTED after the steroid hearing last week. He may never even get into the hall of fame now.

Either A. You want to keep your limited view of the situation, or B. You are simply uninformed of what's really going on.

1. Racism may still exist but I don't see it as a racial issue. Bonds has been one of the more disrespectful players around when it comes to treating the media fairly. He should realize that the media is doing its job. This has been a problem with Bonds since he was a Pirate so it's not a new thing. From what i've heard Bonds has rubbed teamates the wrong way throughout his career but he gets away with that kind of behaviour because of his talent.

If everything was racial then you'd have seen some kind of backlash against Sammy Sosa when he was neck and neck with McGwire in '98 but as far as I remember he was universally supported by the media and fans. Bonds has never been accomodating. Yes he did make himself available to the media a bit more in his 73 HR year but it was basically forced upon him whereas McGwire and Sosa soaked up the media spotlight.


2. If Barry were a bit more honest about things and less surly in attitude then he would have some defenders in the media. As it stands now Bonds has made his bed, now he has to sleep in it. The man has done wrong and now he must face the consequences. If he came out and admitted to the steroid use or at the very least make an apology without being specific like Giambi did then the media would be far more sympathetic. Remember America loves to forgive yet Bonds has given no reason whatsoever to be forgiving and kind.
