    Andruw Jones on fire

Andruw hit homers 9 and 10. He is EN FUEGO. Hopefully he can carry it over to the regular season. He has lost about 20 pounds and has gone back to a wider batting stance. The other day he hit one about 450 opposite field. Hopefully he can have that breakout season that has been expected since he came up.

    lol

Doesn't it seem like we say this every year. Maybe this will be the year he does it. But he always has that 6-7 week slump in mid-summer that kills it.

Spring training stats mean nada, the parks are smaller and the wind blows like crazy many homers that are hit, would never leave a ballpark.

            So settle down

That's why I said "Hopefully..." I'm well aware of what spring training means, but like I said, he's lost a lot of weight and has gone back to a wider stance, two things that should help a lot.

Ahhh.....I guess that explains why everyone is batting .400 with 10 HR's in spring training.

actually, the last player to hit 10 in ST was Sosa in 1999.

"Jones' previous spring high was seven homers in 2000, when he went on to have his best season, batting a career-high .303 with 36 homers and 104 RBIs."

They mean a lot when you are using a new batting stance. Especially since the advice came from Willie Mays.
