The Sox are better than the Tigers. The Tigers just don't have the pitching to contend yet. However, i think the Indians are a legit threat in the Central, maybe even more so than the Sox. They've got a powerful line-up, decent pitching and a decent bullpen. They could be a very tough team.

The Twins don't necessarily play small ball. They barely steal at all, and don't take a lot of walks. They've relied on pitching and defense to win games because that's all they've had. We still have the pitching. The defense is a little down this year (but still better than Chicago and Cleveland), but our bats should be much better. A full year from Mauer and Morneau vs. Henry Blanco and Mientkiewicz? Talk about a monster upgrade. Not to mention a better bat at SS (Bartlett vs. Guzman) and a more productive 3rd baseman (Cuddyer vs. Koskie. Koskie just could not stay healthy enough to put up the numbers over a full season) signals more offense in Minnesota. The real question is lack of continuity with the new faces. That's a hurdle they need to clear.
Wow, talk about puting a positive spin on everything.

When your team upgrades its line-up, that's generally considered a positive thing. You'd know, if Chicago ever got better. Sadly they haven't, and they aren't.

Enjoy another year of Carl Everett and The Big (always) Hurt.

......wait, i forgot, AJ and Posiednik are going to lead you to the series, right? Along with the brilliant managing of Ozzie Guillen and the slick fielding of Konerko and Crede.

      Right.

Did you noticed that i mentioned the Twins defense would be worse this year? How about the concern for blending in the new faces? Did you just ignore that part of the post because you were so steamed that i would mention that the Twins have improved their offense?
