    Question about Canseco

Say, why does everyone have such loathing for this guy? I mean, yea he worte a book, spilled out a bunch of details about other stars of the game but do you think he's lying for a fat royalty check or is there some truth to his story?

I have'nt really been paying attention to him but we all know that he's a genetic freak....so why is his book so hard to swallow?

He's the worst kind of stupid because he actually thinks he's an intellectual. He's arrogant and out of touch, and an enormously bad example for his or anyone's children.

However, that doesn't mean there's not a ton of truth in his book.

I think a lot of the loathing has to do with the fact that he still endorses the use of steroids, despite what he said at the hearing a couple weeks ago. Yeah his book may contain a lot of truths and a lot of good may come as the result of it, but it's really no big secret what his motivation was to write it.

If he had not headed that ball over the fence for a HR for the other team, things would have been a lot different.

I believe he is telling the truth. Of course he is doing it for money , but who cares. A year from now he will be long forgotten again.

Nobody likes a rat. Even if he is telling the truth.

Unwritten Rule #1 with ballplayers : "What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room". That includes guys taking steroids or cheating on their wives during road trips.

Canseco was "black balled" from baseball several years ago (that is what he said). So I assume he is trying to get revenge. I don't agree with the book and think he is prett much scum for ratting on players. I do think he is telling the truth though. Wouldn't surprise me if he turned up "missing" in a few years.

He's probably telling the truth. Some of it may be embelished tho just to grab more headlines. Canseco may be scum but at least he had the cajones to be a whistleblower against a sport that doesn't take drug testing very seriously.
