    Beane about to sign extention

    http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-...ports&ctrack=1 &cset=true

The A's are expected to announce today that Beane has agreed to a contract extension through 2012 and has been granted a share of ownership, a distinction without recent precedent among major league general managers.

    In Billy We Trust!!!

I've been a fan of Beane ever since I read moneyball. Beane always tries to be one step ahead of everybody else and judging by his regular season track record, he's been doing a fine job.

My Red Sox tried to get him a few years ago, but we all know how things turned out with Theo in charge!

Good move by the A's. Beane is regarded as one of the best GM's and it's a great move for the A's to lock him up for the next 7 years.

He had to re-sign, he hasn't traded everyone yet

            Good one.

He's a great GM, let's hope he knows what he's doing with this recent happy trigger-finger.

Every time I think about Beane and the A's, I think about one question.

How awesome would one of Beane's teams be if he didn't work for a "small market organization"?

Can you imagine if the A's were able to keep all talent they produced? Add that to the fact that Beane would have enough money to go out and sign a few big name free agents, and it is crazy to think of how good one of his teams could be.

I hadn't even thought of it like that. Yeah, that would be scary.
