    Reds lineup

Okay maybe I am missing something but doesn't the power hitter hit at the 3rd spot with the 2nd best power hitter hitting second? Taking that theory there lineup should be -

    1. Jimenez
    2. Aurillia (doesnt really matter though)
    3. Dunn
    4. Griffey
    5. Kearns
    6. Casey
    7. Randa
    8. LaRue
    9. The pitcher

    But it instead is -

    1. Jimenez
    2. Griffey
    3. Casey
    4. Kearns
    5. Dunn

Then the bottom 3 involves Aurillia, Randa and LaRue. Can someone explain to me why they chose casey at the 3rd spot instead of Dunn?
    Lifelong Bengals and Buckeyes fan...yeah...

first off i dont know why you would bat griff 2nd thats just stupid cause hes a great hitter when hes healthy, yeah i know thats almost never. As to the whole sean casey thing i think they probably put him there because he is such a good contact hitter and dunn set a major league record last year for strikeouts lol. I think the top five of their order should be: 1. Jimenez 2. Kearns 3. Casey 4. Dunn 5. Griffey
    NBA: New York Knicks
    NCAA: Duke
    MLB: New York Yankees
    NFL: New York Jets

That's odd, Casey is more of a number 2 hitter to me. It should be:

        Lead off
        Casey
        Griffey
        Dunn
        Kearns
        Whoever after.

            I agree with Rag...

Casey is the best fit for the #2 spot. He's a very good contact hitter, almost always makes contact(only struck out 36 times last year). But he doesn't have the power to be a #3 or 4 hitter.

As for Dunn, even though he strikes out alot, he also walks alot. He had an OBP around .400 last season, better than Casey or Griffey.

            I would say:

            Jimenez
            Casey
            Dunn
            Griffey
            Kearns

Yeah I thought it was stupid as well but Casey at third is even stupider. (heh) Yes he is a contact hitter but the 3rd slot is for power hitters. After reading the last 2 posts, I agree so I'm going to change it to -

                1. Jimenez
                2. Casey
                3. Griffey

Marwinner, I think Dunn would be better suited as the cleanup hitter. Even though he k's alot like you said, he still has that effect to where whoever is hitting in front of him will benefit from the pitcher not wanting to go after him, risking a 400ft home run. That's just me, he looks more like a traditional cleanup hitter, all or nothing. But then it wouldn't hurt to alternate Griffey and Dunn.

I'd put Griffey in the 5 spot just to rile him up. Remember they put him in the 5 spot last year and he got upset and his bat got hot.
