In the last two seasons, playoffs included, the Sox-Yanks have faced each other around 55 times with Rivera appearing in I think 28 or 29 of those games. That's a lot of games against the same team. Not to mention the best offense in baseball two years running.
Rivera will still dominate the rest of the league.

P.S. I'm from Boston, so I hope his woes continue!

This man knows of what he speaks. It's not like Mariano has anything to hide against the Sox.

Are we going to have posts every single time the Red Sox beat the Yankees? The Sox got their World Series, I think the bandwagoning fans can jump off now.

I don't think he has some mental block against the Red Sox. He hasn't pitched well first 2 games this year. He might have been able to get by against some teams, but he hasn't been able to get the cutter inside enough consistently.

The Red Sox have hit him well lately, but they are the best offense in baseball, and they have faced him more than anyone else the last couple years. I think the Red Sox probably hit most Yankee pitchers better than most teams. It just gets magnified when you always pitch with the game on the line.

Rivera will be ok.

Most of what you said might be true but how do you know the Red Sox arent in his head now? Everything you said might be true but it might also be the case the Red Sox have rattled his psyche.

In any case, the Yankees do have to find a successor to Rivera for when his contract's up/he retires. I think they're considering Scott Proctor to fill the role.

Please. They'll just give Eric Gagne or Brad Lidge or whoever a ton of money to play for them. They don't do anything homegrown anymore.
