Project the next 300 game winner from pitchers right now that's under 30 years old.

Looking at the next 300 game winner it looks like Glavine is next in line. But it's easy to predict it now but would you have ever thought that he was going to do it when he was in his early 20's?

My next 300 game winner from a pitcher that under 30 is Mark Burhle. Looking at Burhle he has 70 wins so far in his career. Maddux had 75 at 25 years old. Given that most good pitchers pitch until their 41 years old if Burhle pitches until 41 he has to win an average of 15 games a year. Sound like a hell of a feat BUT I think Burhle can do it. I just hope he continues to do it with the White Sox.

So who do you think will win 300 games from a pitcher that's right now under 30 years old?

I think the most likely right now is Jake Peavy. He's 25 with over 30 wins and doesn't have any recurring health issues that I remember. If he gets 5 more 15 win seasons under his belt he be over 100 before he's 30.

Honestly, I would be surprised if anybody else got to 300.

Gotta go with Peavy as well, he's a hard thrower with a changeup as a strikeout pitch, and they always seem to have good success (Santana, Pedro).

              I was thinking Peavy, too.

I agree, we may never see a 300 game winner again. Now a days the SP will go about 6 innings leaving the fate of the game up to the bullpen, which as we all know how this season is going is a negative.

I think that 250 is the new 300.

Agreed. We won't see another 300 game winner out of the current crop. I can't say what baseball will be like in another 15-20 years though.

                      Mussina might be a possiblity.

221 wins at the age of 35, no major problems with his body.

I don't think we'll see another 300 game winner in our lifetime. but if I had to guess it'd be Jake Peavy.
