Indians sign Hafner to 3 year extension

CLEVELAND (AP) — Travis Hafner signed a $7 million, three-year contract with the Indians on Wednesday, the second Cleveland player given a longterm deal since the start of the season.

Now the Tribe has locked up Victor and Travis for the next few year at a relatively cheap price. These moves are looking more and more like what John Hart did in the early 90s. Hopefully this puts them on the same track.

They still need a closer, though!

Good move by the Tribe to hold on to Hafner for awhile. The kid is going to be a very, very good hitter for Cleveland. With him and Victor in the middle of that lineup, it'll be scary to see how good this team is in a couple of years.

I look for them to lock up Crisp, Blake, and Westbrook next.

How is Phillips doing nowadays? I really liked him, but he kinda disappointed in the league.

Phillips is garbage plain and simple, sorry I just can't stand that kids attitude. As for future line up we also have Ryan Garko and Franklin Guiterez(SP) in the minors ripping the cover off the ball, we've got the bats and this year it looks like we finally have the arms to be great in a short time.
