    Is Steinbrenner ailing?

I'm not talking about his reaction to the Yanks play lately. I haven't seen him do a TV interview this season. All we got was a written statement from him saying how his team sucks. I never see the camera on him at any Yankee games so I assume he's not in the stands and today at the Kentucky Derby he wasn't in the crowd even though his horse was favoured. On a side note I even saw a commercial (VISA I think) with him and Torre where he was signing checks but he didn't utter a word the whole time althougth I have no idea when it was filmed but that might be stretching it.

Considering George loves the limelight it's kind of weird he's nowhere to be seen and considering his age it's not too farfetched that he may have some type of ailment that he may be trying to hide or may be in poor health. Any New Yorkers out there seen him lately on local TV?

I believe Steinbrenner was at one of the games against the Devil Rays this year. I think he lives in Flordia so that's why you don't see him at Yankee Stadium every game.

      That is correct !!!

Im from NY and even the media never mentioned him not being around, just mentioning how the Yanks are in last place.

Just found it funny that Bob Costas mentioned at the Derby today that George won't be making a public appearance. I just can't understand why he wouldn't be at the derby. You got some horse owners that look like they're 100 years old and can barely walk even showing up there. Even more mysterious that there are no media rumours about it either. Unless they were told to keep it under wraps just like it wasn't reported Reagan had Alzhiemers until years after at the family's request. Could it be something similar or maybe a stroke that impaired his speech?

I believe Steinbrenner was at the Deby and watched from a booth, he just didn't want to make an appearance or talk to the media. I'm going to assume that he just didn't have anything to say before I believe that it's all a big cover-up over some health problem

G-Stein is seen in some of the games, and he most likely was at the derby rooting for his horse, which was favorite.

G-Stein? Now this stuff had truely gotten out of hand.

Kenny Mayne interview Steinbrenner on ESPN before the derby. He looked fine.
