Ricky Henderson Signs with the San Diego...

    Surf Dawgs!

Rickey Henderson, a future Hall of Famer, has signed a contract to play for the Dawgs in the inaugural season of the Golden Baseball League, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

It's time to say good bye Ricky. You had a great career, let it go.

I actually saw Rickey play with the Newark Bears last year. I believe it's also where Lima pitched before the Royals signed him a few years ago.

Anyways, poor Rickey. Just hang 'em up.

The guy loves to play the game, I say let him play. He has earned to do whatever he wants.

I like this quote "Rickey can't score from first".

They had not one, but two articles on him from the UT, yesterday and today. Pretty cool stuff. I'd say he'd need to hang him up, but keep playing Rickey, he still lights up the game. Heck, he's still faster than probably 90% of the league.

Thats pretty cool that he's still playing. I'd love to see him end up in the majors before he hangs em up for good.

Its not like he's just barely hanging on either he can STILL go and still steal 2nd and 3rd base and i think he should definitley get a shot with a team this year (Theres a few that could use him)
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

Rickey is the modern day Minnie Minoso. He and Julio Franco will probably still be playing when they're 50. Actually I think Franco is older then his listed age so he could actually be 50 already!

Anyways while it is kinda sad to see Rickey hanging on like this I still say keep it up Rickey!

He'll be one of those guys who you'll have to tear the uniform off of him before he ever retires.

He just keeps going, and going, and going..

It's getting old now, just hang 'em up, Rickey. You had a great career.

I agree. Baseball's been his life for at least 30 years.

I agree. It's not like he's doing it for the money. $3000 a month is less than what I make! Good to see a guy who genuinely loves to play. As long as he's physically able to keep going out there, I say let him play.
