Rod, you disappoint me... You know me and my humor better than that... 8 innings? 10 Ks? 120+ pitches? Keeping a rally alive with his bat? He did an OK job. A little short of the 9 innings170 pitches Jerry talked about last week, but we'll make do with the W.

Jerry said he was expecting 100 more pitches from Johan.

By the way, why is Omar getting a 4 year extension? Can't they wait until the end of the season at least? The guy has had hits and misses and I don't see the point of giving him a vote of confidence at this time.

I don't have a problem with Omar getting an extension. I think he's still one of the better GMs in the league. Hopefully he'll be successful in addressing the bullpen issues. Stepping back from the situation, it's hard to fathom the position we're in despite the fact that the bullpen blows chunks.

You know what? Who cares? Why are so many of us transfixed on how much money he makes? Or how many years his contract is (supposedly) for?

This money stuff is media driven, but it really is obnoxious on how transfixed the media and fans are 'concerned' or 'worried' about what Omar may get or is getting. Who ****ing cares? I mean really. All we all need to be transfixed on, is the Mets making the playoffs.

Where was I? What's that supposed to mean, I've rooted for the Mets since I can remmeber. I was a member of this board with a name of ewrMETS before Omar arrived. The Wilpons had a history of not spending money until Omar got here. They passed on ARod AND they passed on Vlad Guerrero at discounted rates. I'll give Omar credit for spending money and the Johan trade (though he was handed that one on a silver platter) but what else has he done?

You joke about what the Mets were before Omar came aboard...the Mets were one GM removed from a team that went to the World Series.
