The 2008 Baltimore Orioles
We're in for yet another long year as O's fans, likely our 11th straight losing season, but I think this year is a little different. As opposed to having the potential to get worse, we now have the potential to get better, and I'm excited to watch Jones, Markakis, Loewen, Patton, Albers, and all the other young guys continue to grow and develop as players. I'm also curious as to what Luke Scott can do in left, and look forward to seeing guys like Reimold, Liz, and possibly Wieters get called up at some point in the year. IMO we have more hope than we have in awhile and things aren't that far off, but this will be a little bit of a rough season. Either way, I'll be watching (well, listening and following on MLB GameCast).Tags: None -
Re: The 2008 Baltimore Orioles
I'm actually really excited about this year. It's not "we're going to the post-season" excitement, but something different.
I cannot wait to see Jones patrolling CF. I also can't wait to see Loewen back on the mound. I think he's going to be great. Even though he pitched only a little last year, it felt like he was on his way to putting it all together and he seems really excited. -

40 O's game to be in HD in 2008 - http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/b...,6246635.story
My take: 40 games? That's it? How many did we get with Comcast SportsNet? Way more than 40.Comment

Re: The 2008 Baltimore Orioles
That's a good question. Somehow we managed to not get blown out (actually tied).
Few positives yesterday:
- After striking out twice, Adam Jones hit a HR off Matt Riley in the 5th.
- Markakis went 2 for 3.
- Moore went 3 for 4 with a walk and two runs scored.
- Pitching (outside of Yan) wasn't bad.
- Albers struck out the side after giving up a hit in the third.
- Excluding Yan, no reliever gave up a run.

Re: The 2008 Baltimore Orioles
Will we cut Gibbons today and just eat 12 million? Gawd, I hope so.
Sean Singletary
"Not wonderment," he said when asked if he was surprising even himself with his hot hand in Virginia's 108-87 victory against Gonzaga on Wednesday night, when he scored a career-best 37 points. "I was just wondering why they didn't play more `D."Comment

Re: The 2008 Baltimore Orioles
Our new guys are really starting the season off well. Sherrill has three saves. Scott had himself a game yesterday. Jones has shown some bright spots. Albers has pitched really well in relief.Comment
