Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves
I must say I was surprised to see us win today, in extra innings no less. That was a huge bounce back from the disaster last night."The best thing about being a football player at Alabama...winning...winning." -Mark Barron

Jo-Jo to the penn and calling up this Medlen kid. Pretty impressive numbers in AAA. 5-0 0.96 era and a 21 inning scoreless streak !My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves
I want Hanson called up...really looking forward to seeing him pitch every 5th day. On another note, Javy Vazquez is really missing bats this year."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves
me too ! Apparently this guy has out pitched Hanson so he got the call. The both might be in the rotation before the end of the season. I think they will both be way better than Glavine too.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves
The Braves won’t make the ensuing roster move until Tuesday, but either Jeff Bennett or James Parr could be the odd man out. Bennett has allowed four of eight inherited runners to score and is getting hit at a .373 clip.
Etc.
Reliever Jorge Campillo will pitch for Class AA Mississippi Saturday in the first game of a minor-league rehabilitation assignment to begin his comeback from shoulder fatigue.
Not sure which I would send down. Campillo if he can pitch better, needs to be used more and not saved as an inning eater. They have started to use Carlyle more like I have said they need to do.Comment

Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves
I thought Parr still had options? Bennett has had some rough patches lately but he's more effective now than Parr. So far this year, Medlen is 5-0, 0.96 ERA in AAA Gwinnett.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves
Just when I thought this team might be making a move toward the top of the division we get destroyed by the D-Backs 12-0. And what's up with Carlyle? He gave up 6 runs in the 9th to raise his ERA to 8.57. I've supported the decision to bring him in since day one but I think his success with the Braves is behind him and it might be time to move on. When Medlen is called up is it possible Carlyle could be the odd man out?Last edited by Kohlstar20; 05-17-2009, 02:34 AM.Comment

Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves
Parr does have options, so maybe they send him down and DFA someone else to open up a 40-man spot. Maybe Luis Valdez? He's on the 40, but his stats look unimpressive.Comment

Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves
Kelly Johnson is simply not fit for the leadoff position. He batted 6th in today's lineup and had 3 hits. It's why he played so well in the 2nd half of last year...I'd like to see Schafer at leadoff a few more games to see what happens.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
