    Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves

C'mon guys, it's only the first game of the season and some of you are already writing off Gonzo as the closer. He was just overthrowing the ball a little bit that's all. I attribute it to nerves of opening night which every pitcher has not to mention the fact that it wasn't even a save opportunity. Have some faith!!!

Cordero has the same issues. Moylan is a better set-up man...ideally, Soriano would be the better closer as he has better stuff than Gonzalez. In fact, Gonzo throws a 2-seamer but I didn't see it once yesterday. We had a 4-run lead at risk and had the tying batter at the plate b/c of Gonzalez's control issues (and the fact Jeff Kellogg was squeezing some strikes).

Maybe Tom Glavine could be like Smoltzie and close for the season.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I would have loved a Chad type, I however still have faith in Mike. Until he proves me wrong that is...

Good first game, but let's not get to high or low...there are 161 more to play. DLowe was awesome last night, but I he's a known quantity and I don't expect him to suddenly have a career year. He'll give us 10-15 wins, a 3-4 ERA, and 200+ innings.

The biggest key for this team is staying healthy...if we're healthy, we'll compete. If not, it will be like last year.

You Braves fans have to like seeing Francouer hitting the ball hard.

            Good game last night.

I actually happen to like Mike Gonzalez .

Anywho...We'll peg Vazquez...Seems like McCann has a knack for hitting opening day HRs. At least against us .

Jair tomorrow, can't wait to see what we get out of him this year. Is it an ESPN game, by chance? I missed the game because of work last night. I got home in time to see Howard strike out in the 9th. 1-0. I'm hoping for a good year. If Lowe can hold it down, Jair improve and Vazquez give us something, we will be fine 'till Hudson comes back.

I am really excited to see how the kid does this year. Did he not lead the team in wins last year?

Anyhow, I am so glad baseball is backkkkk.

Looking and Mike Gonzo's stance makes me laugh

I mean just look at it:

                      <EMBED height=344 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=425 src=http://www.youtube.com/v/hCTJsUADrlY&hl=en&fs=1 allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true">

I think Soriano has the upper hand at closing. Mike Gonzo's consistency is kinda off.

Our lineup is up to task.

Isn't Tim Hudson out for the yr w/ TJ surgery?

He's probably going to be back at some point. I think I've read August, possibly.

I doubt dude. TJ is usually a yr of inactivity, and then the pitcher comes back w/ better velocity than he had prior to the injury.

It's extremely hard to comeback from this in a year, or even less. 18 months or longer usually. I don't know the timetable of Hudson's injury, but wasn't he done in June or July or later?

He had surgery early last August. That would be a year....

The typical recovery time is 12 months. If we are in the playoff race I expect to see him back. If not, more rest will come his way.

I also realize your line is up to task, I was just pointing out that Jair is ahead of Vasquez in our rotation.

where can you watch Braves game online? I know they are broadcasted on Peachtree TV (WPCH) and FSS. Wat are some quality sites to use?
