Decent game tonight, I don't think there was much of a surprise with the offense. It's weird, individually I love every player on this team, but collectively, I hate it. I hope they find ways to manufacture runs this year because it is going to be the most effective way to score for them.
Looks like Kouzzz is going to be the guaranteed GIDP guy this year.
The defense was definitely a disappointment tonight (I think the first Suzuki error was Pennington's fault though) but at either rate I still see tonight as a fluke more than what we will see all season. Regardless of who is in the outfield, they will have solid OF play.
I think by the end of the year our middle infielders will be Grant Green and Cliff Pennington. I love Ellis, but I just don't think his defense will be enough to offset his offensive deficiencies.
I think one of the more promising aspects of tonight was that with how poorly Sheets pitched (he was all over the place and didn't show any signs of actual command) he only gave up 3 runs (forgot to check but I'm pretty sure only 2 of them were earned).
Disappointing ending after a nice comeback on the King, and it is no stretch to blame the defense tonight, but I'm looking forward to the season and hopefully this thread....
