How about Salty not being able to catch in the 8th, and that one that he lost between his legs that got marked as a wild pitch! Too bad there isn't a stat called ****ty catching.... lol

So...apparently this Matsuzaka dude can pitch okay also.

Oh, and that Varitek guy...keep trotting him out there...he seems to really make a difference for the pitchers. We should make him our Captain or something.

Captain Varitek. That had a familiar ring to it!

          Dang...and here I thought I had an original idea...lol.

Yet another great pitching performance, this time with Salty in the lineup. The staff is just hot right now and I'm lovin' every bit of it(that's what she said).

Same here. They are dirty hot. Insane performances! That is the great thing about baseball, long season and crazy streaks.

Hey guys, after getting permission from Chris, I wanted to ask if any of you wanted to write on my blog about the Yanks and Red Sox. My other writer hasn't written much on the site and the blog really hinges on banter between a Sox fan and Yanks fan. It's not a paid position at all. If you'd like to see the blog and get a feel for the type of writing, please feel free to click on the link in my signature. Please contact me at jkra0512ATgmailDOTcom if you are interested.

                  Goodness...

I never though I'd be excited about a 21-20 record, but that climb to FINALLY get over .500 was a long one and they finally made it (and in dramatic fashion, to boot!). Let's hope the rest of the season trends upward!

I missed today's game at work ... did it end early due to weather or something??

Yeah, there was a 50+ minute rain delay in the bottom of the 8th, so they called the game off.

loving the back to back 14 spots, i never really liked Adrian Gonzalez much at San Diego, love him now though haha. Good to see all the different contributions though both yday and today, nice when the non starters tear it up too, last 2 weeks or so have been a blast!!!

Sox offense firing on all cylinders as of late looking good.

So far this year, your chief rivals number is had. Setting history with most wins in a row, etc.

But no over-hype. Enjoying the silent victories.

Yup - I think the terrible start actually helped this team because it kept everyone from talking about them, or putting ridiculous expectations on their season, and all of that. Let them focus on just playing good baseball and so far it seems to be working.

Hopefully Pedey's injury is nothing too serious and the whole injury bug doesn't strike like it did last year.

                              Agreed 100% with this.

You know things are good when the biggest deal is a damn bat flip Papi does, which is not his first time... hell it is even in MLB The Show on some monster shots, cause he is KNOWN for it.

Nobody complains when Cano admires, every... single... no doubter.

Such a joke the media is. Nothing else better to do than make controversy.

And I do hope Pedey is okay, the team needs him. I have a good feeling he will be fine, and it isn't too serious. *Crosses Fingers*

Papi keeps hitting in the .320s and mashing HRs, he can flip anything he wants as far as I'm concerned. It's all just media nonsense. Girardi didn't make much of a big deal about it and even admitted he's just inclined to have his guys' backs. I can fully respect that. He's always been one of the Yankees I admired.

To have all the inconsistencies with pitching, some nagging injuries, and some key guys struggling big out of the gate, I'm pretty impressed with being in first place. This offense is scary good and when it all comes together, the Sox are tough to beat.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Yankees season series comes closer to even by year's end (seemingly almost always does) and I fully expect it to be a tight race to the finish. Like everyone else, I'm happy with the quiet. It's nice to just enjoy my baseball team without all the dramatic "National Enquirer" type headlines all the time. It's been a great season so far!
