Matt Tolbert, Glenn Perkins, Jeff Manship and Dusty Hughes made the final roster spots for the Twins. Tolbert is a poor mans Punto which is disgusting.

That doesn't even seem possible. Leave it to the Twins to find it and put it on the bench, though.

I was out with friends last night and one of them was lamenting how much the Twins were going to miss Punto. I laughed at him. The best argument he could come up with was: "Well, if he played every day, he'd win a Gold Glove." I thanked him for making my point for me.

So how long until the announcers for nationally televised Twins games realize that we are closer to paying the luxury tax than not and aren't a "small market" small ball team with good defense anymore?

I'll set the over/under at never.

Horrible start to the season in Toronto. get routed 13-3.

The local announcers haven't realized that yet, so I figure the national guys will figure it out in 7 years.

I forgot how bad all forms of local Twins broadcasts are and was quickly reminded this weekend.

Sadly, that's been one of the highlights of the season.

8 games back guys, what are your expectations for the rest of the season? The playoffs don't seem out of reach, like it did a few weeks ago, but with Cuddyer, Kubel, and many others set to be free agents after this season, do we dare trade them away before the trade deadline, and set ourselves up for the future?
