Tanaka's split gets all the press but his sinker and slider are almost as impressive to me. Eventually some team is going to make him pitch backwards so we'll see how much confidence he has in his fastball when people start laying off the split but I feel great about what we've seen so far.

The Cub's manager said batters came back to the dugout saying "It looked just like a fastball"

We got four at Tampa starting tonight. This should be tough.

Another triple play for New York. Somehow this is CCs third with the Yankees. How bout that?

To be honest I'm surprised at the outcome of tonight's game. With Price and CC pitching, I figured DP would get a huge advantage. Can't say I'm disappointed though.

Sabathia is surprising me. He has found a way to be effective with reduced velocity. He probably won't be worth his contract but if he can pitch deep into games, he's still a good arm to have.

Price's performance is one reason I hesitate to consider him an ace (my definition is more stingy than others). I think he's a number one but he has too many moments that make me wonder if he's gonna suddenly stop pitching so well.

Cabral was DFA'd after that interesting performance.

Wasn't a great day for him. Hopefully at the All Star break, Nova will be the fifth starter if everyone is healthy.
