My only concern with Wood is an arm injury...his motion is super funky. If he stays healthy though I think our 1-4 will be solid all year long.

The funky motion may be what's influencing me, I just see him taking a small step back this year.

The one thing that concerns me with Wood is that delivery. Not just from the injury potential, but you just don't see guys with funky deliveries have long term success. Hopefully he is the exception though.

I think that's because a lot of teams try to "fix" them and it ends up losing what makes them special. Hopefully they leave him alone.

Minor was scratched with shoulder tightness. Hopefully it really is just precautionary.

I am so FRICKING sick of this crap…WHY CAN'T THIS TEAM KEEP PITCHERS HEALTHY? It's gotten to the point of stupid now...

One of the preview mags (Lindy's, maybe) mentioned that scouts never thought Minor's shoulder was right last year, and they expected him to have issues with it again this year.

Long past stupid. Just predictable now.

                        Re: 2015 Atlanta Braves

So Upton is out for a while, Minor looks to be out for the season, Simmions has yet to appear, Markakis is hopefully back for the start of the season...

At this point I'm just hoping to see Peraza on the opening day roster, assuming he isn't attacked by rabid chickens or something after a game and out for 2 months.

I'm down to give John Hart a chance to rebuild as I really like what he did in Cleveland, but man after seeing the article about Kimbrel's future with the team in question, that might throw me over the top.

Also since we are kind of on the topic of injuries I'm not sure I'm going to blame the Braves organization on the Minor one. Here's how I see it and I may be way off. Dude knew he was up for arbitration after last season and I think he bet on himself. He has admitted to playing through shoulder pain. So on one hand we can look at this and pat him on the back for trying to play while injured, we can also look at it and say, dude decided he wanted to sit this year for 5.6 mil instead of 3 mil.

It was truthfully probably a combination of the two and I think he figured he would be able to recover enough to be healthy this season. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when you read about a guy going through arbitration to get more coin only to find out 2 weeks later, he's got shoulder pain and did all/most of last year.

The team isn't going to look out for you when it comes to finances, so I've got no problem with Minor getting his money in order first. In a perfect world he would have fixed his shoulder first, but players have to lookout for themselves. Unfortunately you rehab on the team's time after you get paid, just like Markakis is doing.

Surprised to see there was no talk here about the Braves 9 man no hitter today! Granted it's spring training still nice to see the arms in motion this early.

Ya, we threw a no-no and still didn't win. Welcome to the 2015 Braves!

I have a feeling we are going to be saying that a lot this year.
