    SMB3 - single player?

I enjoyed the demo for this and was thinking of getting it, but am I correct that there is no franchise or single player option other than random games?

There absolutely IS a franchise mode as well as a season mode.

When you say random games, I am assuming you mean the online Pennant Race mode. With the full game, you have access to more teams to play as in Pennant Race.

Cross platform online leagues were just announced today!

I did not realize there is a season / franchise mode. Thank you!!!
Season mode with a random team would be nice. I like that I have fun with this game as compared to my frustrations in The Show.

I had the same experience years ago when I discovered the original SMB. I still play The Show occasionally, but this game has smoother gameplay and a fun factor that The Show doesn't have in my opinion.

It's an overall better game than The Show.

Franchise mode has multiple seasons, players retire, you can sign free agents, salary cap, release players. No trades but that’s okay. Also, there are training upgrades to players. It’s all very simplified versions but a welcome addition.
