Tony Bennett one and done with WSU?

I've heard from a few people that with the way WSU is playing this year, Tony Bennett is already due for a pay raise. I've also heard that people from Minnesota have been trying to come in contact with Bennett already and are said to real push for him after the season. WSU AD Jim Sterk is quickly trying to squash any potential future scenarios and has been trying to work on a long term extension.

Tony is an awesome coach and I don't know if the Coug program would ever recover. It worries me because the Bennett family is all from Wisconsin, recruits in Wisconsin, and they know the Big Ten like the back of their hand. I hope it isn't true.

I've heard from a few people say Tony is sticking around for a while. His dad has mentioned he wished he would have coached at WSU earlier in his career. Said its a place he could have coached at for 15+ years due to the low stress levels and school pride/fans. I think he'd pass the importance of that onto his son. And Tony has mentioned on multiple occasions about how WSU can be a big time program.

Tony's base salary is actually pretty decent already, but you're right, he will be getting a pay raise and probably an extension (even though he has 4 years left on his contract).

I thought Minnesota pretty much had Flip Saunders set as their new basketball coach.

Today's Columbian has a blurb from Sterk that he and Tony are working on a contract restructure and extension. And that no others schools have talked to Sterk or Bennett. Hopefully, this means he'll be at WSU for years to come.

          Thats good to hear.

Even if the Cougs lose all the rest of their games, Tony Bennett still deserves coach of the year for what the Cougs have accomplished this year.
