Exactly. If they had called the blatant foul on Lighty right before then (where he got knocked down while shooting!) that situation never would have happened.

Its amazing how people only see what they want to see.

Good game X! Knew it was gonna be dogfight!

I think Butler - MD will be a better game than whatever they are switching to, too.

First of all, for those that can't spell it correctly, I'll help. XAVIER not xaiver. Secondly, what the hell do the officials consider an intentional foul? Greg Oden throwing Justin Cage out of bounds for his 5th foul doesn't qualify? X would have had more free throws and the ball out of bounds. Don't give me the "Greg Oden had to run over the guy..." BS. The guy is 7-feet tall. X had nobody of his size. In fact, you Bucks fans should be happy the officiating was tilted your way most of the game. I will pay good money to boo Greg Oden unmercilessly in the NBA.

Now that I got that out of the way, I knew when Cage missed his 2nd free throw and Lewis made that 3 that X was done. It wasn't meant to be. Same feeling I had when the Bengals botched the XP snap against Denver this past season. Anyway, I was more worried about Ron Lewis today than anyone else. Figured Oden would get his points but Lewis is a great player with experience. He proved me right. I'll miss Cage, Doellman, and Cole. I really wanted them to win for those three guys. Sad to see them go.

Great game by Xavier, OSU was lucky today. Oden played like crap, and Xavier hit their 2nd half shots.

I have to agree, I was shocked by the ferocity of that foul, and pretty surprised they didn't call it intentional. I thought it was clear that he was frustrated and taking it out on Cage.

I have to agree about Oden, x should have had more free throws to seal it. I however do not think that they were robbed because of this. The opportunity to win it was there for them and they choked on the second shot but thats not all, they should have fouled tosu to prevent that 3. Worst case scenario they make the first free throw and tip in the second for 3 points. That is a lot harder to do than draining the 3 after x misses on the other end (something that seems to happen in this situation just about every time).

I knew they were finished when it went to OT. Personally I think tosu is better without oden slowing everything down.

Totally agree with you on both. I didn't really address the former in my original post but I should have. They had their chances. Really, could anyone have gotten to Lewis to foul him? They set a double-screen. I'm not sure if anyone could get to him quickly enough to foul. I didn't expect X to hang onto their 9-point lead with 3 min to go. It was just a matter of "When?" and "How?" I watched the game with my pop and we both thought OSU played better in OT without Oden than they did the other parts of the game.
