Huggins' 09 class

Looks pretty good on paper. Adding these guys to what they already have coming back makes this team dangerous next season.

Certainly looks good but the key will be how long Ebanks stays. The one-and-done types are such a crap shoot, you usually ride their greatness for a year but then they set back your program for a year or two. It's interesting that no publication, at least that I can find, has them as a Top 15 class.

It's one of the things that I'm proud of UConn's alumni, we've never had a one-and-done player despite having the most alumni in the NBA. I have to thank my lucky stars that Brandon Jennings ditched UConn after having all but guaranteed to come to Storrs. So instead of being screwed this coming season with no incoming PG we ended up with Kemba Walker, phew!

Yeah if Ebanks is as good as what I'm hearing, I can't imagine him being here anymore than 2 seasons. A few guys I know have watched some of the pickup games at the Colieseum this summer and they say that he is explosive and can score from anywhere on the court.

I've seen them ranked anywhere from 20-25 in recruiting. Proby just officially signed this week so that number may go up a little bit. He was going to Oklahoma State and when Ford was hired he was granted his release. He gives them a decent post guy that they so desperately need.

I can't really comment on WVU having one and done players or even about Mountaineer alumni in the league. Alexander is the first NBA player we've had in 30 years or more. LOL I have a feeling that over the next 10 years or so, I'll get to see a few more.

You definitely lucked out on the Jennings situation. I couldn't imagine thinking that you had a Top 5 recruit locked up and then he decides to go overseas to play I just hope that this doesn't start a trend. I love college basketball and I would hate to see this happen frequently.

scout.com does strengths and weaknesses for most players

example: Kevin Jones (http://westvirginia.scout.com/a.z?s=...=1&nid=1726651)
STRENGTHS: Length, Outlet Passing, Traffic Rebounding
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: Perimeter Shot, Post Play, Size for Position
Here we go Steelers
Lets go Pens
Hail to Pitt
Lets go Bucs

What do you want me to do? yell at scout.com?

well espn.com has descriptions too..
Kevin is a versatile forward. He is physically strong and is always working. He understands how to play on the inside and on the perimeter. He rebounds well and plays under control when driving to the basket. Bigger players bother his game at this stage.

Jones has great feel for the game and the ability to move the ball out on the perimeter. However, he's really much more of a "face the basket" power forward than he is a wing. Jones really doesn't have the foot speed or quickness to play full time on the perimeter, and it frankly would be a waste of his considerable talents around the basket to do so. Jones is a likely Big East-level recruit with the potential to be an impact player there.

maybe they'll have the players you need
