UCONN had a very nice win tonight against Miami, thought it would be closer, but i guess not. Nice playing by Thabeet, though.

So, the Irish win at LMU was less than spectacular, but a win beats a loss any day.

Meanwhile, after a slow start against Indiana, the Irish lead 44-23 at halftime in Maui. McAlarney leads all scoring, while Zellers is off to a pretty solid start (8 pts, 8 rebounds). Harangody is pretty quiet though... Looks like Crean knows what he's doing against the big man.

Cuse with the win over #18 Florida, though I don't consider it an upset. I definitely thought Cuse would get the W.

UConn up by 10 on Wisconsin at halftime in the Paradise Jam Classic. Their half court trap looks the best I've seen in 12 years.

The Big East is living up to the hype tonight Brother. Watched My Irish dominate IU, watched the Cuse take it to Florida both from the outside and inside, and now watching UConn. This league is just unreal this year....can you imagine the BE tourney at the end of the year.

And after UCLA's loss we have the #2, 3, 4 ranked teams in the country. ND gives us nearly half of the Top 10.

What a ****ing horrible call on that Thabeet foul. It doesn't get much cleaner than that, the ref has no business making that call from that angle.

Yes it does, and to see teams at the bottom like the 'Hall" take down USC, it just shows how deep this league is right now. This may be, when all is said and down, one of the best conferences EVER, in college basketball.

My only concern is that obviously , we are all going to beat up on each other all year long...But when tourny time rolls around and we get 8-9 teams in, imagine the battle tested teams that will rep the BE in the field of 64(65)

I fully expect it to be the best conference in the history of basketball, I think it will be a big disappointment if it isn't.

And you have a very valid point about beating each other up and potentially hurting teams in the Big Dance.

Former UConn, now UMass guard Doug Wiggins has been indefinitely suspended.

Doug Wiggins of East Hartford, who transferred after two seasons at UConn and was to sit out this season, has been suspended indefinitely at UMass.

This from the Daily Hampshire Gazette ...
UMass announced that Doug Wiggins has been suspneded indefinitely by UMass coach Derek Kellogg and athletic director John McCutcheon for an off-campus incident.

Presumably that incident is this item from the Amherst police log:
"Douglas Edward Wiggins Jr., 20, of East Hartford, Con., was arrested Saturday at 3:49 a.m. at a Puffton Village home on a charge of breaking and entering to commit a misdemeanor, police said. Wiggins was arrested after he was found inside the bathroom of another person's home, police said."

Wiggins has a history of legal issues. According to the Hartford Courant, he failed two drug tests while at UConn.

Wiggins = Douchebag. How many chances does the kid want. Man, you would think after the issues at UConn, getting another chance at a decent d1 bball school, the kid would have learned something.

He's an idiot, I played against him in the Hartford Pro/Am and he just doesn't get it. I coached a few kids who played with him and know him pretty well and he's just a knucklehead. Partying is his #1 priority, basketball is a distant second and academics is somewhere down in the depths of his priority list.

The kid is so damn quick but just a complete waste of talent.

Well, two double-digit wins against ranked opponents for UConn. We're looking pretty good so far, Kemba Walker brings so much to this team on both ends of the floor. Gonna be a very exciting season, looking forward to the match up with Gonzaga next month.

I am telling you as an ND fan, I think UConn scares me more than Louisville. With Thabeet, Walker, Dyson and Adrien...that right there, scares the hell out of me.

And good Lord man man, with Mandelove , Okwandu, and Thabeet you guys have a 21 1/2 foot front court......
