Offensively speaking, this Syracuse team is about as good as i have ever seen. They have 8 guys who can score in double digits every night.

Defensively, Its not a great team for Zone but they will make up for that with Man D, and they can just outscore most teams they will play.

I watched them play last night. I think I will be following this team closely this year. They can be fun to watch at times. I love the way Johnny Flynn plays.

I grew up here in Jacksonville, so there wasn't really a basketball team for me to root for. But for whatever reason, I always rooted for Syracuse. Not really sure why either. Maybe because I like their jersey colors, or I think the Carrier Dome is pretty cool, i don't know...its weird. I first started watching them during the "Keith Smart" championship game...and I rooted for them ever since. Loved the Sherman Douglas days...DC, Billy Owens, etc.....I am not sure why I have always been drawn to this team.

But they seem to be coming back around, and I will probably be rooting for them again this year.

The Big East is VERY scary this year, any game can be a loss, Im scooping up BE tourney tickets ASAP. It's gonna be a great time.

I cant wait for this year, Ill eat my shoe if the BE isnt the best conference at the end of the year. They are just too good. It's ridiculous.

Have you been able to get them since the conference expanded? Do you get them through Cuse? I went to it most years from the 1995 through 2004 but then it became impossible to get tickets.

Here's why: NCAA rules permit schools to give their scholarship athletes a cash stipend to cover living expenses. If a school doesn't have dormitories, the amount of the stipend is calculated according to the cost of living in that school's neighborhood. Best of all, the NCAA allows schools to dispense the full amount regardless of what an athlete's actual living expenses are. That means a local player attending St. John's could either live at home and pocket the entire amount of the stipend, or he could bunk up with several of his teammates, pay well under the stipend amount in rent, and pocket the difference. For decades, this was St. Johns's dirty little secret -- only it wasn't really dirty because it was fully sanctioned by the NCAA.
                That's crazy!!!

Btw, 04 and 06(did not go in 05/07 ) I just scalped tickets, it was VERY easy. This past year, I met a buddy threw my work(I love resturants lol) He played AAU ball with Paul Harris and I would say pretty good friends with him, so I regullary get my tickets threw him and sell my season tickets. He got us some BE tourney tickets this past year. It's awesome.

Watch out for the Orange guys, what a game played by them, plus they won me money.

After watching the game, I must say I agree with Dickie V, Onuaku has a chance to be special. Late in the 2nd half, he blocked two straight shots in a row at a time when they needed a big stop, also made some nice passes, and great finishes in the post. Flynn is awesome, Devendorf was meh, but we all know he can shoot.

Living up to the hype so far. UConn beats Miami and Wisconsin. Notre Dame beats Texas. Syracuse beats Florida and Kansas. Seton Hall beats USC. 56-5 overall. What a start.

This conference is crazy, they've got a combined 56-5 combined record right now.

EDIT, wow really weird Jets, we had the same idea at the same time.

The cherry on top would be if ND could somehow pull off the huge upset tomorrow night. Not holding my breath though.

But if that did happen, we would probably have the #1-4 ranked teams in the nation come Monday.

Oh yeah, DVR no doubt, this game could seriously be remembered for a long time. And that's no joke, I'll definitely be watching this one. I think it will also be very big for ND this season. And then NC and Mich. St. not to long after which should also be a good game. (which is completely off topic, I know.)
