That is a pretty damn good starting line up. They'll be able to compete with any team in the league.
I am really curious how the two recruited freshmen do this year. Mookie Jones and Kris Joseph should provide some bench support for the PF position. This is gonna be a fun team to watch for sure, but we will really see how good they are this year on Nov. 24th when they Play Florida( assuming they win the CBE Play in games...). The Really good game comes on Dec. 20th at Memphis, that is gonna be a shootout.

Unbelievable, the kid is an idiot. How many chances does he expect to get in life? I guess Caron's advice/mentoring went in one ear and out the other. Good luck to him where ever his next stop may be.

Looks like Syracuse will have the most brutal schedule with the Hoyas coming in a close second...

I like this composite schedule grid of the Big East Basketball Matchups

              Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread

Miles is appealing his expulsion, this whole ordeal sounds like it's far from over...

"I'm going to fight this thing, tooth and nail," Patterson said. "We fought too hard to get him here. And I won't stop at an appeal. The last I heard, this is the United States. If they want to do this, I'll take every option for them to show me what he's guilty of."

According to the UConn student handbook, Miles has five days to appeal the decision.

Miles was arrested last week for violating a restraining order taken out against him by a 19-year-old female UConn student, who said in an affidavit that Miles had pressured her for sex and had become physical with her a few times.

Miles was served with a restraining order at about 8 p.m. on Sept. 22. About 15 minutes later, he called the woman, in violation of the order. He was arrested and later released on $2,500 surety bond.

Both Miles and the woman, a junior, met before a UConn administrative board on Thursday morning. It's not clear whether or not they were ever in the same room together.

Miles faced the board along with his attorney, Rob Britt. Patterson lives in Texas and was not at the hearing.

"From what I understand, the girl said she didn't want anybody in trouble, she just wanted him to say 'I'm sorry,'" Patterson said. "She admitted everything was consensual."

Patterson believes that the board may have been swayed by a couple of recent high-profile sexual assault situations on campus.

"I still don't know what he's guilty of, other than making a phone call," Patterson continued. "There's nothing that's been found, no charges have been filed. They had an argument. It's a he said, she said thing. In the end, Nate didn't lie. They basically told the same story."

"They're singing off the same song sheet."

Patterson said Miles is on his way back to his Toledo home with his mother, who came to Storrs to support him but wasn't allowed in the room with him.

"He still doesn't understand it," Patterson reported. "We don't understand. In my mind, it's as if they had their minds made up when he walked in because of all the recent things, and Nate just proved to be example. I could live with 'he was found guilty of this, he did this.'"

^^^ University "Courts" are a joke. If something is a crime, let the police handle it. The Police say no crime occurred, then no freaken crime occurred!!! 3 Syracuse players(including Flynn) just went through this, The University got blasted for the way they handle their little trials.

I'm excited to see what kind of strides we make this year. Pettis, Coburn, and Chandler all have a year under them, plus you got Morris and Rosario. We're a young but talented team. I'm not expecting a big year, but can't fathom finishing last place. Got some veteran leadership in Farmer and Inman.

With how the football season has gone so far, Nov 10 can't get here soon enough.

Looks like Calhoun is going to fight for Miles' reinstatement, especially since the complaint was dropped, lol. This thing was political from the start and Miles was to be made an example of. I think he'll be back in Storrs sooner or later, but will probably face a suspension upon his return.

I am glad, I found this thread. I can't wait for the season to start.

What is the status of Devendorf and AJ Price? Are they both fully recovered, because ACL injuries suck.

Yes, Price started full-contact drills/scrimmaging (basically doing everything again) two weeks ago. I think Devendorf has been working out since the summer.

I have no clue how 'Nova will be this year. Everybody's back, though. So you would think they will be a serious contender for the conference.

It's next year where that team will be stacked.

Same as always, insane guards and no front court. Most publications have them in the #6-9 preseason range in-conference.
