Great win. It will be a lot tougher though on Monday. Got to D up like tonight. Really impressed with Frasor tonight. He came up with some huge loose balls tonight.

No offense to Nova fans when I say this but... Nova players are a bunch of punks.. They play dirty. Claw marks on Hansbrough - Davis being shoved in the back while in the air twice now...ect.
I like their hustle but they need to learn how to play basketball that doesnt include prison yard rules.Comment

Sigh. Disappointing end to a great season. You're not gonna beat anybody shooting the way we did tonight, but it was a frustrating game to watch because we didn't play badly - we just shot like hell. We ran the same offense we always run, got the same good looks we always get, and the shots just didn't go down.
14 point game, with us shooting 18% from 3 and Carolina shooting 50%. We outrebounded Carolina by 1 and had 1 fewer turnover. That tells the story right there. If we shoot even semi-decently we're right in that game and I'm not ready to say Carolina is 14 points better than we are, but the bottom line is that they made shots and we didn't. That means fouling is dirty no matter if it malicious or not.. That's what I just got out of this argument. Why does UNC fan complain about refs so much? The way they play, they'll get to the line anyway. 37 attempts in fact tonight. Quit crying and enjoy another win. Jeez!!!Comment

Yeah, I don't consider Nova a dirty team at all. They were playing hard, and the things that happened was just physical basketball. I was actually pleased that the refs let them play.Comment

The shove on Davis was chippy. But other than that, they were just the fouls that happen in every game. If you're going to call a foul dirty, that means UNC is dirty as well. Nova was aggressive, the refs called it loose, the Wildcats took advantage. That same opportunity was there for Carolina.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Nice season for UConn, extremely disappointing finish.
Congratulations MSU fans I guess, despite the whining in this thread.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Not to take anything away from MSU but if UConn still had Price healthy they'd be in the NC game IMO. I'm a little surprised they got this far but they're not the same w/o him...Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

They are going to have to do better on the glass. & can't have 15 lost pts @ the stripe. I'm not too scared of the home court advantage. 60,000 fans screaming @ you isn't your everyday occurance. But going into places like Cameron, LittleJohn, Rupp, Comcast & Lawrence Joel should have this team able to w/stand that type of pressure.Originally posted by VP Richard M. They can't leave that many points at the stripe, that's for sure. But they've shot FTs very well all season, so I'm not overly concerned about that. It's going to be a tough game no doubt. But I'm very happy right now, and hope for the best on Monday. Should be a good one.Comment

Re: The Official 2009 "Running Commentary of Every Single Tourney Game" Thread
I don't understand the bitch & moan session about 'Nova's play. That is how they play ball. An all year thing. How do you think they can out-rebound Pitt and UNC with only one legit player on the team over 6'7"? They all play like Hansbrough. Don't see you complaining about him.
Anyway, props to UNC (despite a couple of their fans). I won't be rooting for them because of Traitor Wayne and their whole gluttony of talent, but gotta give credit where it is due. Those dudes can shoot. I envy that.
Which is weird...because before this year, 'Nova was all about shooting from the arch. Now, they're a dribble drive team. Strange. We need better shooters. Corey Stokes will have to improve big time for next year so he won't be a non-factor like he was tonight. Combine him with Taylor King and we may see some more bombs.
Last night was a strange game to watch for me. UNC came out playing perfect ball and that is what killed 'Nova the rest of the game. The gap they created from the beginning of the first half kept the game in hand. Because from then on...when 'Nova finally realized they were playing in a real game...things evened out. 'Nova would surge. Then Green or Traitor Wayne would hit a dagger from 3. That was the rest of the game with UNC going to the line like a kabillion times. Five minutes into the second half, I knew the pattern and just laid down and chilled. I saw the outcome before it happened. With 'Nova being horrid from the arch, there was no way into this game.
Oh well...hopefully, this will be one of a few more times for 'Nova under Jay Wright.
Go MSU!!!Comment
