Just because we have top seeds doesn't mean we'll get good games.

Just look at last years Sweet 16:
    #1 UNC beats #4 Washington by 21
    #3 Louisville beats #2 Tennessee by 19
#1 Memphis beats #5 Michigan State by 18
    #2 Texas beats #3 Stanford by 20

The only game that was even in single digits was an OT game vs #3 and #7. And the second closest game was #12 WKU against #1 UCLA.

And last year, atleast we have a top heavy tournament. This year, even the tops teams this year wouldn't compare to the top teams of years past. Luckily Memphis is still in this thing or I might have already lost interest.
Look no further than last year's Final Four.

Everyone was excited for the all #1 seed Final Four, yet both games were blowouts by 15+ points.

Having top seeds facing off against each other doesn't guarantee good games.

How unlikely is it for the top 12 seeds to make the Sweet 16?

Each higher seed was favored to win each game, but the odds of the faves winning all 24 were incredibly slim; 0.7%, or about 1 in 140. To put that in perspective, there was a better chance of ETSU reaching the Sweet 16 (0.9%) than nobody on the top three lines getting knocked out.

They were match ups I really wanted to see though and it also gave us one of the best title games in history. Colelge sports are different than pro sports for me, I don't mind seeing one program flex their muscles and pound the crap out of another top program like last year's FF.
