Re: The 2009/2010 Big East Thread
HUUUGGGEEEE win for Louisville today. Great bounce back from the heartless effort against St.John's Thursday night.
6 game season now....the goal is to win 4 of 6 and it starts Wednesday vs Notre Dame.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Syracuse played like a** and deserved to lose. They have not been playing well at all lately, they probably needed this lose for them to pick it up.
Either way, not too concerned about it.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Yeah I noticed that and I also noticed the terrible blown call on Wannamaker's save before Gibbs' 3 tied it at the end of regulation when his (Wannamaker) foot was clearly on the line and the ref was staring right at it and missed it. WVU basically handed that game away anyway with poor free throw shooting and execution down the stretch. This team lacks that killer instinct to put teams away and they definitely should have put Pitt away rather than letting them hang around. I'm still scratching my head over Ebanks' turn around jumper from the foul line when WVU trailed by 1 in the 3rd overtime. What was he thinking? That ball should have been Butler's hands at some point.Comment

Yep, you could tell they were headed for an L with the way they've played the past 2 weeks. I'm glad they lost, gives them a chance to re-focus for the stretch run.Currently Playing:

Re: The 2009/2010 Big East Thread
Anyone else see an upset tonight with 'Nova & UConn. After the way UConn played the other day, it wouldn't shock me at all if they pull the upset tonight. I'm sure Calhoun lit a fire under them after their 48 point output on Saturday. They have the talent and are capable of winning big games and I just have a feeling about this one tonight. I had this same feeling about the Pitt upset over WVU the other night and the Louisville game yesterday also so I guess we'll see if I'm on to something here. Although this conference is crazy and anything is possible on any given night I suppose.Comment

No, UConn will lose by double digits. People need to stop being fooled by the name on the front of the jersey, this is the worst UConn team of the Jim Calhoun era. No basketball IQ, no half-court offense, no shooters, no chemistry, no rebounding, no front court scoring and sporadic toughness.
They beat Texas because my little sister has more heart and toughness than the Longhorns do. They almost beat Syracuse because Cuse's offense went braindead for nearly ten minutes once Rautins picked up his fourth foul and they lack a true PG.
Nova is tough, deep, will force more turnovers than Cuse did and Scottie Reynolds owns us as well. Gonna be ugly."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

honestly no...I don't see it. 'Nova is a damn good team this year, that I still feel like gets overlooked by the National media.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I still think if the tournament were seeded today, SU would be a higher seed than Purdue.Currently Playing:

7 minutes left and UConn up by 7...........the upset still might not happen but they've got 'Nova on the ropes for sure. Damn the Big East is a physical conference. These guys have been all over the each other and the floor all night long.Comment
